How did you get into rowing?

I have always enjoyed the outdoors so I decided to take up rowing as it looked like a very outdoor orientated sport and i thought it would be a great way to meet friends while also putting my very competitive personality to use.

How does it feel to represent Ireland in rowing?

It is such an honor to represent my country at such a high level in rowing. Last year I represented Ireland at the Home International regatta and Coupe de la Jeunesse but this year is a big step up as I am competing at the Junior World Rowing Championship in Tokyo. It feels great to know that all the early mornings and late evening are paying off and that i am continuously improving over time.

If you weren’t rowing, what sport would you be doing?

If I wasn’t rowing I would probably be swimming as I was already competing at a high standard before I decided to put all my energy into rowing. I actually think that swimming benefited me with my rowing career because it helped me build my fitness and because of swimming I discovered that my personality would suit a sport like rowing as they are quite similar.

What are your future goals in rowing?

In the future I hope to progress on to U23 and senior hopefully representing Ireland on the international stage once again.

When not rowing, what do you do in your spare time?

In the future I hope to progress on to U23 and senior hopefully representing Ireland on the international stage once again.
